Crossroads Student Life

There's a dangerous pattern in the church that has been developing over the last few decades. People have been graduating from high school and disappearing from the church. According to a survey by the George Barna research group, although over half of them attended church regularly as teenagers, only 30 percent of people in their twenties attend church in a typical week. The college years are ones of exploration and individual growth. Whether a person is actually attending college or not, this is a time when the individual begins to develop a real and personal faith, one that doesn't depend on his or her parents. As a result, these years can be exciting and confusing, both fun and anxious. Crossroads Student Ministries @ St. James exists to provide an opportunity for college-age people (student or not) to continue to grow in their faith during the college years instead of abandoning it. By offering various opportunities to explore their faith, Crossroads strives to be the bridge that many students will cross in their journey toward a personal faith in Christ.

Crossroads Single Life

St. James has begun a post-college focused ministry because we consistently meet people who struggled through the transition between college and the rest of their life.  We desire this to be a place where they can find discipleship and fraternity and friendship to see them through the perils of life after college.  Whether it's hunting down that first "real" job, finding a mate, moving to a new city, leaving behind friends from college, or dealing with the common spiritual issues that all ages face, the Crossroads Ministry at St. James seeks to provide a place to connect with peers who are looking for an opportunity to grow spiritually and relationally in a non-threatening environment.  Previous college attendance doesn't matter, as we don't check old student ID's at the door.  Whether you have been a Christian for years are merely exploring what you believe, Crossroads Ministry is a place to ask questions, seek answers and grow with people who are also at the intersection of life.
